Understanding the True Meaning of Assertiveness
People often mistake the true meaning of assertiveness: they fear that by speaking their truth they will come across as unkind or even arrogant. This makes it difficult for them to ask for their needs to be met, and to have authentic close relationships.
It is however perfectly possible to kind, considerate and assertive. We just need to learn the right methods.
Envisioning the Assertive You
In order to become more assertive, it is important to be able to envision yourself in that role. Any changes in life require that we are specific about the goal we want to reach

There are certain ways of being; habits of thinking and behaving which lead naturally to leading a more assertive life. when we adopt these habits, confidence improves in a very natural way and our relationships become stronger and more respectful
Putting Assertiveness Skills into Practice
Once you have the above three aspects to assertiveness in place, it becomes much easier to implement assertiveness techniques such as communication skills and setting boundaries.
