Although people can bring similar concerns and worries to therapy, no two people are exactly the same. This is why I integrate different methods of therapy according to your own individual specific needs.
Talk Therapy is the foundation of our work together. It gives you an opportunity to be in a therapeutic relationship with me which is based on acceptance, trust regard and worthiness. This provides you with emotional and mental space that is just for you so that you can safely explore the issues that are worrying you. In Talk therapy you won’t be judged or told that you shouldn’t feel the way you do, because the sessions are very much focused on you as an individual person with your own unique experiences of life.
Problems and issues tend to to overlap; a problem in one area of your life impacting on another, such as work issues affecting your relationship – or vice versa.
This is all quite usual. In our sessions you have the space to explore and untangle all this so that life becomes much more clear; you can begin to make sense of your life and how you want to move forward.
If you are having a problem with a relationship; I am also a qualified Couples Counsellor and you may choose to come along with your partner for couples sessions.
However it is also quite usual and perfectly ok for you to come along alone to talk about a relationship problem in individual counselling – if you feel that would be more helpful to you.
